A chance to catch up
Before the eating and drinking got into full swing, our surveyors, structural engineers and admin managers got together to review the year and discuss plans for the future of the business. It was great to hear that despite the difficulties the residential and commercial property markets have faced over the year, the company has continued to grow, taking on new employees and clients and branching out even further across the country. Highlights included supporting our public sector clients with RAAC surveys, growing our work on PV panel and roof calculations, and getting stuck into some impressive residential house alterations and designs. We heard about building surveys of some very special Grade II* listed properties in Bristol and Liverpool, and shared building surveying experience on everything from spray foam to bamboo and Japanese knotweed. A stand-out moment was Gary Thompson giving a fantastic presentation on his commercial valuations and expert witness work, describing his experiences in the courtroom, and giving some of our building surveyors a taste of what it is like to be interrogated by a barrister! We were all ready for a drink after that grilling!
The Party!
Once the company meeting was over, we were ready to sample the best of what the Royal Pug in Leamington Spa had to offer. After an absolutely delicious, and very substantial, 3-course Christmas lunch, we headed down to the bar to continue the celebrations. For those staying nearby, this was followed by some impressive dancing along to outstanding live music at the Bedford Street Bar. Late night snacks at the kebab shop not pictured!
